A Unique Event
‘Mayurpankhi Nao’ (ornamented Peacock Vessel) — a dream vessel of the Fairy Tales is slowly advancing, touching the sacred heart of Mother Ganga - the life-force of India’s glorious civilization .... And a lively cultural programme is going on in a neatly decorated dais along with the touchy speeches from some oncologists.
The unique combination of highlighting precautionary measures against Cancer - a burning issue right now by renowned doctors of our Centre and the exposure of the artistic talents of the Centre’s staff members was certainly a new venture in the field of arranging Cancer Awareness Programme. And the architect of a new-look programme which was presented on the eve of the New Year 2008 was Barasat Cancer Research & Welfare Centre.

Jana, IAS - Chairman, West Bengal Housing Board, were also present in the floating vessel programme. |

Totality in Cancer Care :
Awareness, Detection, Treatment facilities, follow-up services & Research Works
To crush Cancer, since 1991 onwards, we have been conducting Cancer Awareness Programme throughout West Bengal. With the alarming rise in the number of Cancer deaths and for World Health Organization’s grave warning, we have decided to intensify ‘No more Cancer Death Campaign” in a bigger canvas. To save so many innocent lives from the clutches of Cancer the existing speed of Cancer Awareness programme has to be accelerated along with the establishment of our sophisticated 300 plus bedded Cancer Hospital.
